Schedule a Tow : If your car breaks down at home, work, or another safe location in our service area, just give us a call to request a tow to our garage. We’ll coordinate a time for our team to arrive with the tow trailer. (Note: we are not an emergency towing service. We cannot respond to accident scenes or vehicles stranded on public roads/highways—our towing is limited to planned pickups from private locations.)

2. Pickup from Private Property: We are authorized to tow vehicles only from private property with the owner’s permission. That means we’ll meet you wherever the car is located — usually your driveway, yard, or a private parking lot — as long as we have the property owner’s consent (often this is you, the vehicle owner, or the owner/manager of the property). We will not perform a tow without proper permission, to ensure we aren’t trespassing or taking a vehicle without authorization. (For example, if your car won’t start at home or in a friend’s driveway, we can come get it. But if it’s stuck on the side of a public road, by law we cannot remove it unless the proper authorities are involved.)

3. Tow to Our Shop: Our staff will carefully load your vehicle onto our flatbed trailer using proper winching and tie-down techniques — just like a professional towing company. Once the car is secured, we’ll transport it directly to our repair facility. Because we tow straight to our own shop (not to an impound yard or storage lot), the process is simple and quick. Upon arrival, we’ll unload your car right at our garage and move it into a service bay or our parking area for check-in.

4. Repair and Follow-Up: After your vehicle arrives, we’ll begin our normal repair process. We diagnose the issue, provide you with an estimate, and perform the needed repairs upon your approval. When the work is completed, you can pick up your vehicle from the shop as usual. If vehicle safety declines and traffic accidents or fatalities increase, the state could be forced to introduce mandatory insurance laws to offset the risk—as has happened in other states following the repeal of inspections. Some states have even implemented laws that allow a police officer or mechanic to declare a car unfit to drive until repairs are made. That kind of enforcement could become necessary here if the number of unsafe vehicles on the road increases.

We may also see a return to the post-COVID challenge of finding good used cars. Without annual inspections, more drivers may run their vehicles into the ground—only trading or selling them once they are no longer safe or worth repairing. No, this is not a human response to the gate or trashcan you might be too close to for comfort but rather a sign that something might be amiss with your braking system. Or it could simply be an integral part of your car's makeup that is specially designed to warn you when it is time to take a look at your brakes.

Here are some possible causes for your car's brakes squealing as you are reversing.

Most often what is heard is a 'squealer' attached to the brakes. This is designed so that when the pads wear down to a certain point this piece of metal will rub against the rotor, making the high-pitched squealing noise to notify the driver that it is time to have the brakes checked out.

However, if the noise goes away when brakes are applied then it could be as a result of something else causing the sound.

One of the first things to check is the brakes' wear tabs that are situated on the edge of the brake tabs of your car. They help when bringing your car to a stop, but if the brakes are getting worn these wear tabs will rub against the rotor and produce the squealing sound.

Ceramic pads are also said to squeal when a vehicle reverses, especially if they get wet or pick up moisture in damp weather.

Another scenario is metal touching metal, where the driver or a mechanic would have to check between the rotors and the pads for fragments of metal stuck between these two parts. Cleaning pads and rotors could remedy this.

On the other hand, if this happens with a fairly new car and the wear tabs have been checked, it could mean the shims have to be greased. The shims are attached to the back of the brake pads and would always need lubrication.

If the car still squeals after checking all the above problems, resurfacing the rotors might be in order. This is done by lightly sanding the rotors, but should not be attempted by the driver or an unskilled person.

For your own safety and that of everyone else on the road, it is advised to change your brake fluid every 24 months or every 24000 miles or 38600 kilometers, or with every oil change.

It is always good to remember to drain the old brake fluid that is left in the reservoir and that brake fluid should never be topped up on top of the old fluid as this may already be contaminated and would ruin the new brake fluid, resulting in the quality of the brake fluid degrading faster than if it was just replaced in the first place.
