Court Injunction Halts Repeal of NH Vehicle Inspections — Annual Safety Stickers Still Required in 2026

New Hampshire Inspection Repeal on Hold: Inspections Are Still Required

As of January 2026, there's been a lot of confusion surrounding the end of New Hampshire's annual vehicle safety inspection program. But here's what matters most right now:

๐Ÿ‘‰ The repeal is on hold due to a court injunction. That means inspections are still required statewide until further notice.

At Accomplished Auto, we want to make sure our customers and neighbors understand: You are still legally obligated to have a valid inspection sticker on your vehicle. If your inspection is due or overdue, schedule your appointment today. We are here and ready to help, and yes, we still have valid stickers to issue.

Why This Matters

The state’s planned repeal of the annual inspection program has been paused while the courts sort out legal and regulatory concerns. While we believe repealing the program would have been a bad idea, we support maintaining it with potential improvements, this debate is ongoing. For now, the law stands, and you must still get your vehicle inspected annually. Although it does appear some towns may give a pass for now on expired stickers this is not consistent across the state.

Early Inspections: Get Ahead, Stay Safe

New Hampshire allows inspections to be performed up to 3 months in advance of your renewal month:

·        If your sticker is due in April, we can inspect in January

·        If it’s due in May, we can do it as early as February

Don’t risk driving out of compliance or scrambling for a last-minute appointment. It is best to plan ahead and stay on top of your vehicle’s safety needs.

We’re Here to Help

At Accomplished Auto, our inspection station remains fully operational. Our certified technicians will continue to inspect your vehicle, issue valid stickers, and help you identify any safety or emissions concerns before they become serious problems.

Whether your inspection is due now or soon, or you just want the peace of mind that comes from knowing your vehicle is safe and compliant, schedule your inspection with us today.
